Thank you Mark Welsh for being an awesome human, for expressing your experiences in such raw poetry. I dedicate this song to you, your beautiful family, and your years of commitment to seeking and embodying your truth.

This song was inspired by a poetic journal entry Mark wrote after a deeply transformative experience left him feeling like a huge part of him had died and he felt reborn in that process. I was struck to the core when he shared it with me and we agreed that a song was waiting to come out of his message.

I love how the catch and drag of the ‘over and over again’ shifts as the song progresses, from the resistance and the suffering, through the acceptance and surrender, to the release and awareness that we are all traveling through these cycles of attachment and release. In the beginning, the endless feeling of the ‘over and over again’ is so raw and seemingly unescapable, by the end we are celebrating the infinite recycling nature of life, realising that we always have the opportunity to take stock, shed our outdated skin, and grow into a new one – for the record, both these skins are spectacularly beautiful.
